CREATIVE WORK

Walking down the street is a constant critique for me - and probably always will be. There's something about discovering a
well-constructed logo, a line of type perfectly set, or an expertly crafted character that just puts me in a good spot.

ELOCAL

eLocal USA, 2010

eLocal wanted a logo that was friendly, flexible, and incorporated their brand's mission - it also had to speak to the future intentions of the site. As a local search company dealing in areas from plumbers to lawyers, I had to intergrate both rural and an urban elements, as the website is nationwide.

Once the logo was finalized, I designed both print and web solutions, and continue to work for eLocal on a daily basis. View work

PAPILLON

Gina Rice, 2008

Gina appraoched me wanting a logo that reflected the quirky and colorful style of her jewelry.

I incorporated the "Papillon" and an earlobe together in the logo to represent the jewelry, giving the logo a bit of personality. Taking that concept further I crossed the experience of looking at jewelry on display with viewing butterflies in a similar manner for the business card. View work

CHILI FESTIVAL

Project, 2008

The objective was to design a poster for a chili festival. I chose to highlight my love for typography and "draw" with type. All the information one needs is contained right in the pepper.

I was awarded a Deans Award for this poster. View work

ENGENZO

Concept, 2008

Using warm colors, layering, and a sense of energy, I created Engenzo out of a spa project. Engenzo is a place where one would go to reenergize and revitalize, as opposed to relax.

This concept was carried arcoss products, bags, and print materials. The pictures of the products will be added shortly. View work

C. SCHOOLBOOK

Project, 2008

Using type as pen and ink is one of my favorite typographic treatments. For this poster I really got to have fun with scale and depth.

The assignment was to create a poster based on a typeface, and display that typeface in an interesting way. View work

KOOMA

Kooma, 2008

Kooma was my very first freelance project. Scott Kim, the owner was looking for a fresh take on his asian fusion restaurant.

Infusing vibrant colors with asian simplicity, kooma was carried across business cards, menus - even chopsticks. The logo is still in use today. View work

BRIAN JOHNSON

Brian Johnson, 2009

Brian Joshson's logo marks a more "alternative" point to my portfolio. He approached me wanting a logo using Sailor Jerry's classic pin-up girl tattoos.

Taking inspiration from tattoo flash art from Sailor Jerry, I created Brian's perfect pin-up girl. View work

BLUE RUBY

Project, 2008

Blue Ruby is a book of modern poetry. Using images from an 18th century anatomy book, I reflected the anatomical descriptions of the poems contained within. I wanted to show that poetry can hit a real emotional marker as one reads it.

The internal pages were layered with fly paper with more anatomical drawings on the them, with the main pages printed on a textured paper. View work

GREENPEACE

Concept, 2008

This a redesign of Greenpeace's current logo, along with letterhead and business card designs.

Using the "G" and a dove head, I fused a dominant, strong "G" with a softer, peaceful dove. Greenpeace is known for their strong activism for environmental issues, and this logo is meant to convey that mission. View work

LEAVING CASH

Brian Fitzgerald, 2009

Brian "Fitzy" Fitzgerald approached me, after having done his first album a few years prior, to design his band's first LP. Gathering input from all 4 band members as well as infusing my own style into the artwork was a great process to work through.

I really had fun adding a bit of quirkiness to the album - from the leaning buildings to the numbers inside the song titles. View work

GLOBAL WARMING

Project, 2008

Trying to keep a fresh take on an over-used topic is always a hard task - and one all design students should go through. This Global Warming Poster was no exception

Using a simple color palette and minimal illustration and typography, I wanted to get the point across as simply as possible. View work

VARIOUS LOGOS

Various, 2008-2010

A collection of logos from various clients. I love logos more than anything in the world, so I have amassed quite a bit of random clients looking for a good face.

In order, the clients are: Parkside Lofts, Michael P. Dorris, OLCG.com, Elipsys Software, and David Anthony. View work
